The Old Burslem Town Hall and marketplace, an amateur painting by Esther Turner — probably made in the 1970s and framed 1979 — loosely working from an earlier engraving and maps. The other building is the Meat Market, with the house of Gregory Hickman (surgeon) seen behind. She’s probably made the exteriors look a bit more earthy than they would have been circa 1810.
